Following the success of the annual public productions presented by the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College (MAVC), a new artistic production will soon be showcased on 9 May 2026 at the St Agatha Auditorium, Rabat.
“L-AĦĦAR BASTIMENT: Stories from the Grand Harbour” is a new multidisciplinary production from MAVC featuring an artistic triptych: a short musical, a short play with music, and a dance work – all inspired by historical and human stories that took place in Malta’s Grand Harbour.
Orkestra Maxime from Katowice, Poland – an orchestra that has already played a significant role in recent MAVC projects, including its contribution to the premiere of the contemporary opera TRAB: The Rest is Dust as well as collaborative work on contemporary Maltese and Polish repertoire—is expected to return as the principal orchestra for this new production.
This project brings together music, visual arts, drama, movement and dance, offering participating students a unique professional experience under the artistic direction of directors, choreographers, musicians and designers who are working collaboratively on a creative project of national importance.
Stay tuned for more information!
